MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Senior Andrew Murphy (Natick, Mass. / Natick) scored twice and classmate John Boylan (Hazlet, N.J. / St. John Vianney) recorded his second career goal as Susquehanna men's soccer defeated Penn State Harrisburg 4-0 in a non-conference road match Wednesday evening.
The Crusaders (7-3-1, 2-1 Landmark) scored three first half goals, with Boylan's occurring in only the 7th minute of play, with an assist from junior David Trank (Mendham, N.J. / West Morris Mendham), to give SU the early cushion.
SU's second score happened in the 18th minute as Murphy took a feed from sophomore Paul Siekmann (Washington Crossing, Pa. / Council Rock North).
The third and final goal of the opening period was recorded by junior Kyle Semmel (Burlington Township, N.J. / Holy Cross), who notched his fifth goal of the season in the 33rd minute with a helper from sophomore Gannon Keller (Selinsgrove, Pa. / Selinsgrove Area).
Murphy concluded the scoring for the Crusaders in the second half by registering his second of the game and fifth of the season in the 49th minute. With his two goals, Murphy is now tied for ninth place all-time with 17 career goals (Stephan Olowule, 2001-04).
Senior netminder Matt Salsman (Selinsgrove, Pa. / Selinsgrove Area) got the start and played the first half, making one stop and earning the win. Junior Zach Zoller (Wall Township, N.J. / Wall) played the second period and recorded four saves in his second action of the season.
SU returns to conference play on Saturday, hosting Catholic at 12 p.m. Six members of the team will be honored in a pre-game ceremony for Senior Day.

Last season, SU defeated the Lions 4-1 at Sassafras Field as Andrew Hayes and Gannon Keller recorded goals for the Crusaders.
