SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna women's swimming team defeated Landmark Conference opponent Catholic 157-105 Saturday afternoon.
In the day's first action, the Crusaders 'A' team took first in the 200 medley relay with a mark of 1:55.35 behind the work of Annie Bruxelles (Hockessin, Del. / Sanford School), Julia Doherty (Pelham, N.Y. / Pelham Memorial), Alex Bornman (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) and Kyle Seaman (Moreland Hills, Ohio / Orange). Seaman would later place second in the 50 free (26.03), 100 free (56.19) and 200 free (2:01.81).
Erin McElwee (Phoenixville, Pa. / Phoenixville Area) won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:02.56 as well as the 200 backstroke with a mark of 2:16.33. Bornman captured first in the 100 breaststroke with her time of 1:11.30.
In the 100 and 200 butterfly, Ashlee Weingarten (Hackettstown, N.J. / Hackettstown) took first place with readings of 1:03.24 and 2:21.65, respectively. Kelsey Lessard (Chestertown, Md. / Queen Anne's County) turned in the winning time during the 200 breaststroke, recording a time of 2:33.70 and captured first in the 400 IM with her mark of 4:56.41, a PR.
Caroline Henderson (Berkeley Heights, N.J. / Governor Livingston) finished in second place during the 500 free, posting a personal-best mark of 5:32.91 and in the day's final event, the Crusaders 'A' squad won the 200 free relay in 1:43.38 behind Bruxelles, Doherty, Bornman and Seaman.
The Crusaders are back in action on Friday, Nov. 22 as SU competes at Bucknell.
