MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Susquehanna women's tennis
team is a perfect 4-0 during its spring break trip in Myrtle Beach,
S.C. after wins over Regis, John Carroll, Wittenberg and
Misericordia.

The Crusaders pulled out a 5-4 win over John Carroll on March 6
and followed that with a 9-0 victory versus Wittenberg and a 7-2
win against Misericordia on March 8 in their final match of the
week.
Against John Carroll, SU won three of six singles matches with
wins from Abby Hess (Hughesville,
Pa./Hughesville), Brielle Ferlauto (Neshanic
Station, N.J./Somerville) and Claire Smyth
(Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) before going on to take
two of three doubles matches to pick up the win. Hess and
Shelby O'Riley (Ware, Mass./Quabbin
Regional) won at first doubles (8-1) followed by an 8-5
win from Jessica Klinger (Hummelstown,
Pa./Hershey) and Ferlauto.
Susquehanna followed that with a 9-0 sweep of Wittenberg on March
7 with all but one singles match being decided in straight
sets.
The trip came to an end on Friday with a 7-2 defeat of
Misericordia. The Crusaders won five of six singles matches with
Ellen Pulsinelle (Lyndhurst, N.J./Immaculate
Conception) and Smythe dropping just one set apiece.
In doubles action, Susquehanna won the final two matches as
Klinger and Ferlauto won 8-6 and were followed by an 8-3 win from
Pulsinelle and Jess Lage (Franklin Lakes, N.J./Immaculate
Heart Academy).
The Crusaders open their home spring season on March 16 with a 1
p.m. conference match against Drew.
