Women's Tennis Falls in Season Finale at Goucher

TOWSON, Md. – Susquehanna's women's tennis team dropped their final match of the 2012-13 season on Saturday afternoon, falling at Goucher 7-2.

Goucher (11-3, 5-0) swept singles action despite a pair of tough matches by senior Ellen Pulsinelle (Lyndhurst, N.J. / Immaculate Conception) and sophomore Claire Smyth (Lewisburg, Pa. / Lewisburg Area).

Senior Abby Hess (Hughesville, Pa. / Hughesville) and sophomore Shelby O'Riley (Ware, Mass. / Quabbin Regional) won at number one doubles 9-8 (8-6). Pulsinelle and Jessica Lage (Franklin Lakes, N.J. / Immaculate Heart Academy) were victorious at number three doubles 8-5.

Hess finished the year 10-5 in both singles and doubles. For her career, Hess is 33-22 in singles and 37-19 in doubles. Pulsinelle finished 8-7 in singles and 9-5 in doubles. She has 28 singles wins and 25 doubles victories in her career.

The Crusaders (10-5, 1-5) opened up the year 10-0, but unfortunately dropped their final five matches to end the season.
