OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Susquehanna volleyball competed in the
Stevenson Tri-Match on Saturday afternoon, its first action in
almost a week. The Crusaders defeated Shenandoah 3-0 before falling
to the No. 22-ranked Mustangs.
The Crusaders (13-3) swept the first match against Shenandoah
(6-8), winning 25-20, 25-17 and 25-12.
Against the Hornets, freshman Maggie O'Hearn
(Mountville, Pa. / Hempfield) posted a double-double with
a match-high 30 assists to go along with 14 digs. Classmate
Erin Byrne (San Diego, Calif. / Scripps Ranch) had
a game-high 14 kills, four assists, eight service aces and four
digs for a solid all-around effort.
Junior Jessica Holm (Montvale, N.J. / Pascack
Hills) finished with 10 kills and sophomore Sarah
Paluck (Nesquehoning, Pa. / Tamaqua Area) had a game-high
15 digs for SU.
Against No. 22 Stevenson (17-0), the Crusaders were swept,
dropping straight sets of 25-14, 25-17 and 25-13. O'Hearn
registered 25 assists and seven digs while Paluck contributed 15
digs for Susquehanna.
The Crusaders head to Gettysburg to face the Bullets on
Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m.
