SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna's women's
tennis team defeated non-conference opponent King's (Pa.) 7-2
on Sunday afternoon.
The Crusaders (3-1) dropped both number one and number two
singles, but won at every other event to come away with the home
win against the Lady Monarchs (0-2).
At number three singles, junior Brielle Ferlauto
(Neshanic Station, N.J. / Somerville) defeated her
opponent 7-5, 6-1 while Jessica Lage (Franklin Lakes, N.J.
/ Immaculate Heart Academy) won 6-1, 6-1 at number four
singles.
Christine Bender (Amityville, N.Y. / Long Island
Lutheran) picked up the victory at number five singles,
6-2, 6-0 and Alyssa Fleischman (Madison, Conn. / Daniel
Hand) won at number six single,s 6-0, 6-1.
SU swept doubles action with Shelby O'Riley (Ware,
Mass. / Quabbin Regional) and Lage winning at number one,
8-5. Jessica Klinger (Hummelstown, Pa. / Hershey)
and Ferlauto earned the number two doubles win, 8-2 while freshmen
Megan Rudloff (Milton, Pa. / Milton Area) and
Kelly Furlong (Cazenovia, N.Y. / Cazenovia) won at
number three, 8-5.
The Crusaders travel to Misericordia on Wednesday, Sept 25 at
3:30 p.m.
