WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Susquehanna men's tennis team
defeated Lycoming 8-1 on Thursday afternoon to pick up the
Crusaders' first win of the fall season.
SU (1-3) swept all three double matches against the Warriors (0-3)
and dropped just one singles match all afternoon.
Jeremy Neville (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley)
opened singles action with a 3-6, 6-0, 10-5 win and Brandon
Feldstein (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional) followed with
a 6-1, 6-2 win at second singles. Ian Endresen (Jersey
Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) won 6-1, 6-3 at third
singles and Mitchell McMichael (Bel Air,
Md./Fallston) picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at number five
singles. Dan Kinney (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey)
picked the final singles victory of the match, winning 6-2, 6-1 at
sixth singles.
Endresen and Feldstein teamed up to win 8-6 at first doubles and
Neville and Kinney were victorious at number two doubles, 8-1.
Doubles action wrapped up with a Scott Rodd (West Hartford,
Conn./Conard) and Ryan Van Valin (Downingtown,
Pa./Downingtown West) 8-2 win at the final doubles
spot.
The Crusaders return to action on Sept. 28 with a 12 p.m. match at
Hood.
