Women's Tennis Concludes Fall with 9-0 Win

Box Score

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – A 9-0 win over Penn College on Saturday wrapped up the fall for the Susquehanna women's tennis team, which finishes a perfect 6-0 in dual matches for the season.

The Crusaders had little trouble dispatching the Wildcats (0-6) as Claire Smyth (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area), Linsey Sipple (Erie, Pa./General McLane), Megan Rudloff (Milton, Pa./Milton Area), and Julia Spear (Milton, Pa./Milton) all won singles matches by a 6-0, 6-0 score.

Shelby O'Riley (Ware, Mass./Quabbin Regional) took first singles 6-1, 6-0, and Alyssa Fleischman (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) won at second by the same score.

SU also dominated in doubles, dropping only one game in the sweep. Amanda Costantino (Aberdeen, N.J./Matawan Regional) and Spear blanked their opponents 8-0 at first, while Rudloff and Sipple did the same at second. Smyth and Fleischman won 8-1 at first doubles.

The team well take a much-deserved break and return to action in the spring with a Landmark conference match against Goucher on Mar. 21.
