Box Score SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Senior Day did not result in a win for the Susquehanna women's soccer team as SU fell 4-1 to visiting Catholic University.
Freshman Haley Bingaman (Northumberland, Pa./Shekellamy) accounted for the Crusaders' only goal in the game, a score in the 43rd minute of the match.
Seniors Kate Wiley (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) and Samantha Zuponcic (Mantua, Ohio/Crestwood/Hiram) each had two shots as Susquehanna finished with eight shots to Catholic's 18. Crusader goalie Jordyn Slocum (Eagleville, Pa./Methacton) had eight saves, four in each half.
The Cardinals (12-1-2, 6-0-0) scored less than 13 minutes into the game but it remained a mere one-goal game for the next 27 minutes before Lindsay Aleman scored in the 40th minute on a ball that went over Slocum's left side for a 2-0 score.
However, SU (5-10-2, 1-4-1) rebounded just three minutes later when Bingaman netted an unassisted goal to cut Catholic's lead in half (2-1).
Unfortunately, the Cardinals accounted for the only two goals of the second half with scores in the 63rd and 69th minutes with Aleman scoring her second goal of the game with 68:10 on the clock.
Susquehanna plays its final home game on Sept. 29 against Lancaster Bible at 7 p.m.
