Box Score HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Susquehanna women's tennis team remained undefeated in the fall season with a 9-0 win over Penn State-Harrisburg on Saturday. It was the fifth consecutive dual match win for SU and the third by the score of 9-0.
Julia Spear (Milton, Pa./Milton) did not drop a single game in two matches, winning 6-0, 6-0, at sixth singles and 8-0 with partner Amanda Costantino (Aberdeen, N.J./Matawan Regional) at third doubles. Megan Rudloff (Milton, Pa./Milton Area) also won 6-0, 6-0, at fifth singles and teamed with Linsey Sipple (Erie, Pa./General McLane) to take second doubles by an 8-2 score.
Sipple, who has not lost a singles match in tournament or dual match play, earned a 6-2, 6-2, victory at fourth singles.
Shelby O'Riley (Ware, Mass./Quabbin Regional) and Brielle Ferlauto (Neshanic Station, N.J./Somerville) also continued their winning ways, taking first doubles 8-3. O'Riley added a 6-1, 6-1, win at first singles while Ferlauto cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win at second. Claire Smyth (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) completed the sweep with a 6-0, 6-2, rout at third singles.
The team concludes its fall season with a home match against Penn College on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 12:00 p.m.
