SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna men's
lacrosse team fell into a 5-0 first-quarter deficit against
visiting Franklin & Marshall and despite limiting the Diplomats
to only 10 goals over the final 45 minutes of play, SU was unable
to complete a comeback.
The Crusaders (2-4) pulled within five goals midway through the
fourth quarter but could not close the gap any further over the
remainder of the game.
Franklin & Marshall (4-2) had 45 shots to SU's 23 and
won 23 of the game's 27 face-offs. Susquehanna starting
goalie Jared Knowlton (North Salem, N.Y./Kent
School) played the first 30 minutes and finished with five
saves. Ted Benoit (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) played
the final 30 minutes and also tallied five saves.

The Diplomats fired off five unanswered goals before time had even
expired in the first quarter. However, Brogan got the

but F&M responded with three more unanswered goals to make it
an 8-1 game with 7:14 still left in the quarter.

play.
Unfortunately, the Diplomats were able to score four of the five
goals in the period to go on to the 15-7 victory over SU.
