SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Three players scored three goals to
lead Susquehanna women's lacrosse past Scranton 15-5 on
Saturday afternoon, the Landmark Conference home opener for the
Crusaders.
SU (3-3, 2-0 Landmark) received three goals each from senior
Michelle McGinniss (Randolph, N.J. / Randolph),
junior Meredith Crane (Maplewood, N.J. / Columbia)
and freshman Kelcie Ehler (Chatham, N.J. /
Chatham). McGinniss and Crane both finished with a
game-high five points.
For her career, McGinnis has 11 goals against Scranton and the
Crusaders now have a three-game winning streak against the
Royals.
Also chipping in on the offensive attack was senior Emma
Ehler (Chatham, N.J. / Chatham) and junior Brynn
Reid (West Grove, Pa. / Avon Grove) who both registered
two scores. Sophomores Becky McHugh (Royersford, Pa. /
Archbishop John Carroll) and Annie McElaney
(Natick, Mass. / Natick) rounded out the scoring with one
goal each.

Methacton) earned her second win of the spring, finishing
with 14 saves on 21 shots. SU doubled-up on Scranton in shots,

The Crusaders jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the Royals (1-3,

first. But SU responded with seven unanswered goals to close out
the period and take a commanding 9-1 lead at intermission.
Scranton tacked on their second goal of the day to begin the
second half at 27:25 but the Orange & Maroon answered with
goals by McGinniss and McElaney to take an 11-2 lead. The Royals
cut the Crusader lead down to eight (11-3) with 16:29 to play but
three-straight scores put SU up comfortably 14-3.
Despite a pair of Royal goals in the last 12 minutes of action,
