BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Both Susquehanna men's and
women's tennis teams fell at Moravian on Saturday dropping in
Landmark Conference action.
The men (3-12, 0-5 Landmark) and the women (6-7, 1-3 Landmark)
were defeated 9-0 by the Greyhounds.
In women's singles action, Shelby O'Riley
(Ware, Mass. / Quabbin Regional) fell at number one 6-3,
6-1. Alyssa Fleishman (Madison, Conn. / Daniel
Hand) fell at number five 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8).
Kelly Furlong (Cazenovia, N.Y. / Cazenovia), at
number six, dropped her decision 6-2, 6-4.
On the doubles side, O'Riley and Brielle Ferlauto
(Neshanic Station, N.J. / Somerville) lost 8-4 at number
one. Fleishman and Christine Bender (Amityville, N.Y. /
Long Island Lutheran) dropped at number two, 8-4 while
Furlong and Megan Rudloff (Milton, Pa. / Milton
Area) fell 8-3 at number three.
For the men, Ryan Van Valin (Downingtown, Pa. /
Downingtown West) fell at number two singles, 6-0, 6-2 and
Long Hoang (Dong Da, Ha Noi / South Kent) was
defeated at number three singles, 6-0, 6-2.
In doubles, Van Valin and Jeremy Neville (Wellesley,
Mass. / Wellesley) lost at number one 8-1.
The men's team hosts Goucher tomorrow at 1 p.m. while the
women host the Gophers on Monday, April 14 at 3:30 p.m.
