TOWSON, Md. – After tossing his third career complete game
on Sunday, Luc Kocher (Middlebury Center, Pa. /
Elkland) has been named the Landmark Conference Baseball
Pitcher of the Week for the period ending April 27.
Kocher and SU defeated Catholic 5-1 on Sunday afternoon to win
the weekend series. The righty needed 111 pitches against the
Cardinals and struck out seven batters, surrendering just one
unearned run and four hits.
Kocher is 5-2 this season with a 1.61 ERA, best among SU
starters. He has thrown 56.0 innings and given up just 10 earned
runs while striking out 38, second best on the team. Kocher has
given up only 12 walks and opponents are hitting .228 against
him.
In the conference, Kocher is ranked second in ERA, is tied for
second in wins, third in strikeouts and is fourth in innings
pitched.
SU (25-11, 13-5), the No. 2 seed in the Landmark Conference
playoffs, plays at Widener today at 4 p.m. before taking on No. 3
seed Catholic on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
