BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Susquehanna women's swim team dropped a non-conference meet to Division II Bloomsburg on Friday evening as the Huskies beat the Crusaders, 120-82.
Freshman Jessica Jozefiak (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) finished second in both the 50 free (25.98 – a new personal best) and 100 fly (1:02.92) and was a member of the 200 free relay team along with Ashlee Weingarten (Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown), Kyle Seaman (Moreland Hills, Ohio/Orange) and Joann Butkus (Barnesville,Pa./Tamaqua Area) that placed first in the exhibition event.
Butkus also added a PR with her time of 2:20.28 as she finished second in the 200 IM while Lexi Cole (Danville, Pa./Danville) placed third in both the 1000 free (11:05.90) and 100 back (1:03.73).
Weingarten picked up points for the Crusaders with her third-place result in the 100 free (57.79). Similarly, Annie Bruxelles (Hockessin, Del./Sanford School) finished third in the 500 free with her time of 5:35.26
Exhibition began with the 10th event of the meet, the 100 breaststroke, which was won by Paige Wagner (Rising Sun, Md./Rising Sun) in 1:13.34. She was followed by teammates Caroline Henderson (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston) and Dana Linsky (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley) with respective times of 1:18.28 and 1:18.34.
Senior Avanti Banks (East Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) also recorded a personal-best time of 1:04.90 in the 100 back.
The team has a short turnaround before it hosts non-conference opponent Albright on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m.
