Box Score SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna men's tennis team ended its fall season with a 5-4 win against the visiting Lions of Penn St. Harrisburg, giving the Crusaders an undefeated non-traditional season.
The Crusaders (5-0) finished doubles play down 2-1 to the Lions (3-2). Number two doubles consisting of Nick Meale and Alex Cocolas earned the only doubles point by defeating their opponents 8-4. Number one doubles, Ben Ornstein/Ryan Seibert, and number two doubles, Alex Dove/Ashton Collins, lost 8-3 and 8-2 respectively.
Susquehanna was able to turn it around, however, when the team won numbers one through four singles giving the Crusaders the deciding points. Ornstein at number one singles won 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (5) while Seibert at number two won 4-6, 6-3, 7-5. Number three singles, Meale, dispatched his opponent 6-3, 6-0. Cocolas defeated his partner 6-1, 7-5 to seal the win for the Crusaders.
"We have fine group of freshmen that gives us a competitive future," head coach Bob Jordan said.
