Box Score ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Susquehanna women's soccer team dropped a one-goal game to Landmark Conference opponent Elizabethtown, falling 2-1 on the road.
The Crusaders (6-5-2, 0-3-0) were down 1-0 late in the game until Grayclynn Juckes scored the game-tying goal in the 78th minute off an assist from Kelley McKenna.
The game remained tied for the next 10 minutes until Elizabethtown's Kacey Cereankowski scored the ultimate game-winning goal with just over two minutes remaining the game. SU failed to get another shot off and the Blue Jays (7-4-1, 2-1-0) held on for the win.
Susquehanna had eight shots to Elizabethtown's 25. Goalie Jordyn Slocum racked up eight saves with five coming in the first half. Kate Cantrell led the team with three shots while Juckes finished with two, as did Alyssa Bolger.
The SU defense held Elizabethtown without a goal for the first 39 minutes of play. Miriah Dwyer scored at the 39:05 mark to the Blue Jays ahead 1-0 and that remained the score at halftime.
Elizabethtown struggled to put its shots on goal in the second half and Susquehanna finally connected on one of its shots when Juckes redirected McKenna's pass over the goalkeeper's hands.
Unfortunately, Cerankowski snapped the tie with her goal at the 87:54 mark and left little time for SU to answer back.
The Crusaders return home to host Juniata on Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.
