SU Women's Soccer Takes Drew into Double Overtime

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna women's soccer time took Drew to double overtime but lost 2-1 Saturday evening.

Susquehanna (5-4-2, 0-2-0) out-shot the Rangers (4-6-1, 1-1-0) 11 to six but it was not enough to earn the win.

SU scored first when Emily Sullivan (Ambler, Pa. / Gwynedd Mercy Academy) got one past the goalie from a pass by Carly Smith (Fogelsville, Pa. / Parkland) in the 60th minute. Seven minutes later, Drew scored to tie the game at one.

The score remained tied through regulation play and the first overtime. The Rangers scored at the 108:47 minute mark to end the game in their favor 2-0.

The Crusaders' last chance to score came from back-to-back-to-back shots starting at the 89:51 mark by Chloe Eisenhuth (Watsontown, Pa. / Warrior Run), Alyssa Bolger (Stanhope, N.J. / Pope John Regional) and Sullivan

Sullivan led Susquehanna in shots with three, one on goal, while Eisenhuth and Bolger followed closely with two apiece. SU goalie Jordyn Slocum (Eagleville, Pa. / Methacton) faced five shots on goal and saved three.

The Crusaders return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 7 when they host Delaware Valley. The game starts at 7:00 PM.
