Tennis Sweeps Penn College

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Susquehanna men's and women's tennis teams both defeated Penn College on Tuesday afternoon. The men won 7-2 while the women picked up an 8-1 victory.

The Crusader men improve to 4-0 on the season while the women are 2-2.

The men's team swept all three doubles matches by 8-5, 8-1 and 8-0 scores.  SU then dropped just the first and sixth singles matches to easily grab the win. Ryan Seibert, Nichols Meale, Alexander Cocolas and Alexander Dove all won in straight sets with Cocolas dropping just one game (6-0, 6-1).

The women also won all three of their doubles matches, including a forfeit at third doubles. The Crusaders lost only one singles match at first singles before going on to win the remaining five singles matches.

Eliza Griffin took her second singles match to three sets but the remaining singles matches were decided in straight sets while Penn College forfeited at number six singles.

The teams close out their fall seasons on Oct. 10 when they host Penn State Harrisburg at 1 p.m.
