SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna women's basketball team captured its second-straight victory with a 73-50 win over visiting Bryn Athyn as SU improves to 6-2 overall.

Nikki Komara finished with a double-double, scoring 14 points to go along with a game-high 11 rebounds. Angie Schedler led all scorers with 16 points while Courtney Adams finished with 11 points and seven boards. Sofie Schedler dished out seven assists to lead all players.

The Crusader defense forced 17 Lions turnovers and held them to just eight second-quarter points.

Susquehanna never trailed in the game and held an outright lead after the 2:10 mark of the first quarter. The game was knotted at four at the 7:50 mark of the opening quarter and Bryn Athyn (1-3) never let SU take more than a three-point lead until the final two-plus minutes of the half.

Two Adams free throws at the 2:13 made it 17-12 before a Taylor Davis layup at the 13-second mark trimmed it to a three-point SU lead (21-18) at the end of the quarter.

The Crusaders effectively put the game out of reach in the second quarter, giving up just eight points while scoring 20 of their own. Megan McFadden's jumper at the 8:33 mark put Susquehanna up by 10 (28-18) and Angie Schedler's jumper three minutes later kept it a 10-point game (33-23). SU scored the final five points of the half to go into halftime up 41-26.

Seven minutes into the third quarter, a jumper by Adams gave the Crusaders a 25-point edge (56-31) and by the time the quarter came to a close, Susquehanna held a 23-point advantage (62-39).

The Lions were unable to get the lead under 21 and Desiree Furbert's layup with 1:40 left put Susquehanna ahead by a game-high 27 points (73-46) en route to the eventual 73-50 victory.

Susquehanna is back in action Dec. 18 with a 6 p.m. game at Marywood.
