Box Score SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna women's basketball team was hoping to send its seniors out with a win in what was the team's final home game of the season but SU fell 74-60 to visiting Elizabethtown.
However, the No. 4 seed Crusaders (17-8, 10-6) still have a semifinal game in front of them as they travel to No. 1 seed Scranton Wednesday for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
Susquehanna was unable to overcome a slow start as they faced a 16-point deficit just six-and-a-half minutes into the game.
Nikki Komara (Shamokin, Pa./Lourdes Regional) and Angie Schedler (Alexandria, Va./T.C. Williams) both scored a team-high 17 points for a Crusader team that shot 44 percent for the game but just 25 percent from three-point range and only 63.6 percent at the free throw line.
The Blue Jays (18-6, 11-5) led from start to finish, scoring the first 12 points of the game and taking that 18-2 lead at the 13:41 mark of the half. SU was down 19 (24-5) with 8:12 to play and the Crusaders found themselves trailing by 20 (31-11) at the five-minute mark of the half.
Susquehanna trimmed the lead to 13 (35-22) with 1:35 to play but went into halftime down 38-22.
The Crusaders were in a 22-point hole, 48-26, after six minutes of play in the second half. Elizabethtown easily maintained a double-digit lead and SU pulled no closer than 12 at any point over the remainder of the contest.
