SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna men's tennis team opened its spring season with a 9-0 home conference loss to Catholic on Sunday afternoon.

The Crusaders (0-7, 0-1) were shut out in their first two doubles matches with the third doubles team of Chib Onwunaka (Union, N.J.) and Akshay Kripalani falling 1-8.

All singles matches were straight-set decision. Ryan VanValin fell 0-6, 0-6 at number one singles. Matthew Weller (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland Regional) dropped a 2-6, 1-6 decision at second singles and Andrew Parrish (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) lost 2-6, 1-6 at the three spot. SU lost five of the remaining six matches by 0-6 scores.

Susquehanna returns to action on April 25 with a 4 p.m. match at Scranton.
