Box Score 2 SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna softball senior Morgan Lewis (Newton, Pa. / Council Rock North) pitched a no hitter in the first game of a Landmark Conference doubleheader against Moravian College.
The Crusaders split their pair of games against the Greyhounds. SU won the opener 1-0 before falling 5-4 in game two.
In game one, both teams remained scoreless until the bottom of the fourth when Bridget Rafter (Highlands, N.J. / Henry Hudson Regional) got in the inning started with a single. Amanda Neveroski (Toms River, N.J. / Toms River North) laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance pinch runner Cierra Omlor (Salem, N.J. / Salem) to second. Two wild pitches allowed Omlor to score the only run of the game.
Lewis struck out four and walked three to earn the no-hit win for Susquehanna.
Moravian jumped out to an early 3-1 lead in the first inning of game two. Lizzie Mack doubled to center field to plate two and Lindsay Sullivan doubled to right field to score another run for the Greyhounds.
In the bottom of the first, Brianna Murphy (Hazlet, N.J. / Master Dei Prep) was hit by a pitch to get on base and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt form Rafter. Neveroski singled to score Murphy from second for a 3-1 game.
Susquehanna scored three runs in the third on three hits to tie the game at four. Murphy started the inning by singling to second base. Neveroski doubled to advance Murphy to third. Lauren Creamer (Langhorne, Pa. / Neshaminy) tripled to score both Murphy and Neveroski and Creamer would eventually score on an error by the pitcher.
Moravian went on to score in the top of the seventh to win the game 5-4 when Lizzie Mack's RBI single to left scored Jenn Dalickas.
SU left two runners stranded in the seventh to end the game.
Neveroski led the day four hits over the two days while Murphy and Alyssa Cantalini (Kitchener, Ontario/St. David Catholic Secondary) totaled two apiece and Creamer finished with 2 RBI's.
The Crusaders remain at home on Wednesday April 15 to host Lebanon Valley at 3 p.m.
