Box Score MADISON, N.J. – The Susquehanna women's and men's tennis teams traveled to Drew on Saturday afternoon for two Landmark Conference matches.
The women fell 5-4 while the men dropped a 9-0 decision.
On the women's side, SU (7-3, 1-3) won two of three doubles matches but dropped four singles matches.
In singles action, Claire Smyth (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) and Linsey Sipple (Erie, Pa./General McLane) won at fourth and fifth singles, respectively, in 7-5, 6-3 and 1-6, 6-3, 1-0 (14-12) decisions.
The first doubles teams of Shelby O'Riley (Ware, Mass./Quabbin Regional) and Brielle Ferlauto (Neshanic Station, N.J./Somerville) won 8-5 while Megan Rudloff (Milton, Pa./Milton Area) and Kelly Furlong (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia) won 8-3 at the number three doubles spot.
For the men, SU fell in straight sets. Ryan VanValin lost 2-6, 0-6 at first singles and Robert Lloyd (Whitehall, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) fell 1-6, 1-6 at the third spot.
In doubles, SU dropped 1-8, 0-8, 1-8 decisions.
The men return to action on Sunday with a 12 p.m. match at USMMA. The women host Juniata on April 15 at 4 p.m.
