Box Score

SCRANTON, Pa. – The Susquehanna women's lacrosse team captured its third-straight victory with Wednesday night's 18-5 win at Marywood in what marked the final non-conference game of the season for SU.

The Crusaders (6-7) led 11-5 at halftime and proceeded to shut out the Pacers (7-8) in the second half en route to the 18-5 victory.

Meredith Crane (Maplewood, N.J./Columbia) and Kelcie Ehler (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) each finished with four goals while Brynn Reid (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) tallied two goals and two assists.

SU goalies Carolyn Figliola (Weston, Conn./Weston) and Alyssa Rothman (Trooper, Pa./Methacton) were forced to make just two saves all night – with Rothman in net for both saves – as the Susquehanna defense helped force 30 Marywood turnovers and limited the Pacers to just 11 shots in the game.

The Crusaders jumped out to a 3-1 lead after just eight minutes of play with goals from three different players.

Back-to-back Marywood goals tied the game at three before a 4-0 SU run – with Crane accounting for two of those three goals – for a 7-3 Susquehanna lead with 8:33 remaining in the opening half.

The Crusaders proceeded to score four of the final five goals of the half, including one with just nine seconds remaining, to go into halftime holding an 11-5 advantage.

The second half was scoreless through nearly 12 minutes before Susquehanna scored five goals in less than eight minutes. Ehler accounted for three of those five goals with the third goal making it 16-5 with 10:40 remaining.

Annie McElaney (Natick, Mass./Natick) and Caroline Rabiecki (Maplewood, N.J./Mount Saint Mary Academy) scored the final two goals of the game for the 13-goal margin of victory (18-5).

The Crusaders conclude the regular season on Saturday, April 25 with a 2 p.m. game at USMMA. SU has already clinched a spot in the Landmark Conference Tournament.
