Box Score CARLISLE, Pa. – The Dickinson College women's lacrosse team scored the final 11 goals of the game to hand Susquehanna a 19-6 loss.
The Crusaders were within two goals late in the second half but could not keep the Red Devils off the scoreboard for the final 33 minutes of the game.
Kelcie Ehler (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) led SU with three goals while Brynn Reid (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) finished with two goals and an assist.
Dickinson had 34 shots to the Crusaders' 22 and connected on 4-of-5 free position shots.
A mere 19 seconds into the game, Dickinson's Carly O'Brien put the Red Devils ahead and two minutes later, Maddy Siebold made it a 2-0 Dickinson lead.
Ehler broke that scoring streak with an unassisted goal less for a 2-1 game. Unfortunately, Dickinson scored four unanswered goals to pull ahead 6-1 with 18 minutes still to play in the half.
The Crusaders countered, though, by scoring four of the game's next five goals, all over a seven-minute span. Meredith Crane's (Maplewood, N.J./Columbia) score with just under 11 minutes remaining made it a two-goal game (7-5).
Reid kept it a two-goal game when her score at the 25-minute mark made it 8-6 but the Red Devils scored the final three goals of the period to go into halftime with an 11-6 advantage.
Dickinson then shut out the Crusaders 8-0 in the second half with seven of the eight goals coming within the first nine minutes of the period.
Susquehanna remains on the road to face Landmark Conference foe #13 Catholic on April 11 at 3 p.m.
