SELINSGROVE Pa. – The No. 1 seed Susquehanna softball team dropped its Landmark Conference opener to No. 4 seed Elizabethtown, 3-1.

SU will play The Catholic University of America at 10:00 am Saturday, May 2.

Elizabethtown struck first with a run in the top of the third inning. The Blue Jays added two more in the top of the seventh to lead SU 3-0.

The Crusaders answered in the bottom of the. SU's run came when McKayla Brady (Green Brook, N.J. / Watchung Hills Regional) doubled to left field to get into scoring position. Brianna Murphy (Hazlet, N.J. / Mater Dei Prep) followed with a single to score Brady.

The Crusaders totaled four hits from four players with Brady going 1-for-1. Murphy earned the only RBI. Starter Jamie Fesinstine (14-3) took the loss.

In game two, No. 2 seed Moravian defeated No. 3 seed Catholic University of America 2-0. In game three, number four seed Elizabethtown defeated number two seed Moravian 7-6.
