Box Score WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Katherine Millett's (Auburn, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy) goal less than nine minutes into the field hockey game between Susquehanna and King's proved to be the game winner as SU won 1-0 on the road.
Millett scored an unassisted goal – her team-leading third score of the season – in what stood up as the game-winning goal. Millett scored on one of her two team-high shots in the game.
King's (3-2) held a two-shot advantage over SU (3-2) with eight shots to the Crusaders' six. However, Susquehanna goalie Alyssa Rothman (Trooper, Pa./Methacton) racked up seven saves in her 70 minutes of action.
Millett scored on her first goal of the game in what would also be the Crusaders' last shot of the first half. King's Caitlin Wood recorded the final shot of the half but it was saved by Rothman with just under four minutes to play.
Rothman tallied three saves over the first 11 minutes of the second half on the King's only three shots of the final period. King's did have a penalty corner at the 69-minute mark but failed to get a shot off and SU held on for the win.
Susquehanna returns home to host Ohio Wesleyan on Sept. 13 at 12 p.m.
