Box Score WINCHESTER, Va. – The Susquehanna women's soccer team's streak of three-straight shutouts came to an end with a 3-0 loss at Shenandoah on Saturday afternoon.
Two late first-half Hornets goals and a third in the second half was more than enough for Shenandoah to come away with the win.
The Hornets doubled SU in shots (16-8) although both teams had two corner kicks. Goalie Jordyn Slocum (Eagleville, Pa./Methacton) racked up six saves, including five in the second half.
Cassandra Coombs (Whitehouse Station, N.J./Hunterdone Central Regional) and Grayclynn Juckes (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) led the Crusaders (3-1-3) in shots with two apiece.
Shenandoah's Jordan Riser scored an unassisted goal in the 38th minute and just five minutes later, Anna Wilson added a goal to put SU in a 2-0 hole at halftime.
Shenandoah (3-2-2) added another insurance goal with roughly 17 minutes to play. Juckes' had shots in the 75 and 79th minutes but both went wide.
The Crusaders' final threat to score was Alex Edelman's (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional) shot at the 83-minute mark that was saved by goalie Erin Septer.
SU returns home to host Wilkes on Sept. 24 at 7 p.m.
