Box Score SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Susquehanna University field hockey team won in overtime defeating Albright College on day two of the 2015 Connie Harnum Classic.
After an overtime loss on day one of the Harnum Classic, the Crusaders (2-1) took on the Lions of Albright College (0-2) in the consolation game on Sunday. The game remained scoreless through regulation and a goal by Emily Novakovich (Saratoga, Calif./Lynbrook), assisted by Emily Reich (Livingston, N.J./Livingston), one minute and 31 seconds into overtime gave SU the win.
The Crusader offense controlled the game taking 36 shots to the Lion's zero. Lauren Cram (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) and Novakovich led the Crusaders in shots with seven each. SU tallied 19 penalty corners with Albright earning two.
Albright's goalie, Aileen Taylor (0-2), made 12 saves on 13 shots on goal. SU goalie, Morgan Ludlam (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink) (1-0) earned the win.
In the Connie Harnum Classic Championship game Kean University (3-0) defeated Wilkes University (2-1) by a score of 2-1 to win their third straight Connie Harnum Classic Championship. They defeated St. John Fisher in 2013 and Susquehanna in 2014.
Susquehanna returns to action on Wednesday September 9 at Dickinson.
