Men's Soccer Shutout Streak Comes to an End

THE QUICK HIT: The Susquehanna men's soccer team could not overcome two Scranton goals, falling 2-0 at home.

TEAM RECORDS: Susquehanna falls to 5-6-2, 2-1-1 while Scranton is 8-2-0 overall with a 2-1-0 conference record.

SHUTOUT STREAK ENDS: The River Hawks' five-game shutout streak came to an end on Saturday. SU had had blanked its last five opponents, going 4-0-1 in those games.

THE GOALS: The River Hawks held Scranton off the board until the 29th minute when Tim DiBisceglie scored off a Pat Codispoti goal.

Thirty minutes into the second half, Connor Casey added an insurance goal for the 2-0 Royals lead.

TEAM STATS: The Royals had 14 shots to SU's eight while each team finished with seven corner kicks. Susquehanna put half of its shots on goal while Scranton had six shots on goal.

Jake Heyser accounted for three of Susquehanna's eight shots. Freshman goalie Matt Ellingworth made four saves, three in the second half.

UP NEXT: The River Hawks hit the road to face Gettysburg on Oct. 12 at 7 p.m.
