QUICK HIT: The Susquehanna men's basketball team opened its annual Pepsi Tip-Off Tournament with a 91-58 win over Penn State-Wilkes Barre Friday night. The team will now face King's College on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 3 p.m. in the tournament championship game.

DID YOU KNOW? This is the fifth year in a row that SU has reached the championship game of its tip-off tourney. Susquehanna won the last two championship games, both victories over King's.

HIGH-POWERED OFFENSE: Susquehanna is now averaging 103.5 points per game this fall following its 120-116 double-overtime loss to Misericordia on Nov. 15 and Friday night's 91-point performance.

TOURNEY OPENER: King's (Pa.) defeated Franciscan 85-62 on Friday evening in the opening game of the weekend. Franciscan and Penn State-Wilkes Barre face off in the consolation game on Saturday at 1 p.m.

TEAM RECORDS: The River Hawks evened their overall record at 1-1 while Penn State falls to 2-4.

TIPPING POINT: With the game tied at four in the early going, senior Steven Weidlich knocked down a three at the 17:36 mark to spark a 23-0 run that gave Susquehanna a 27-4 lead less than midway through the half. By the time the half expired, the River Hawks held a 47-22 advantage after two Jacob Walsh free throws with 50 seconds to play, marking the final points of the period.

SECOND HALF: Five minutes into the second half, Susquehanna maintained a 25-point lead (59-34) before nearly three-and-a-half minutes passed without a single point for either team. Penn State's Robert Barner made a three at the 10:53 mark to make it a 20-point game (59-39) but SU countered with a 16-3 run to go ahead 75-42.

Susquehanna's 33-point lead remained the final margin of victory.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Ryan Traub led SU with 14 points. Danny Weiss and Seth Callahan had 12 points off the bench and Jason Dietrich added 11. Walsh finished with nine points and a team-high six boards.

SU shot nearly 51 percent from the floor, an even 50 percent from three-point range and 76 percent at the free throw line. Penn State, meanwhile, shot only 28.6 percent from the floor and less than 19 percent from behind the arc.
