QUICK HIT: The No. 4 seed Susquehanna field hockey team took  No. 1 seed Elizabethtown to double overtime in the Landmark Conference championship game but fell 1-0 to the Blue Jays.

FLYING HIGH: Despite Saturday's outcome, the River Hawks finished the year with 15 victories, the most ever under head coach Kaitlyn Wahila and the most since joining the Landmark Conference in 2007. In addition, Saturday's championship appearance was the program's first since the 2009 season.

DID YOU KNOW? By giving up just one goal to Elizabethtown, Susquehanna finished the year with 10 games in which the River Hawks gave up one goal or less, including six shutouts.

THE GAME WINNER: Less than three minutes into the second overtime period, Nicole Leaf collected a pass from Megan Eppley and put it in the cage for the game winner on a well-executed penalty corner.

SCORING CHANCES: The River Hawks had just one shot in overtime, a Novakovich shot 3:04 into the first overtime period that went wide right.

SU's last chance to end the game in regulation came when Lauren Cram and Novakovich each had shots just 21 seconds apart with less than three minutes to play but Cram's was blocked and Novakovich's went wide left.

BUSY DAY IN GOAL: Freshman goalie Emily DiGaetano racked up 16 saves in the game, six of which came in the first overtime period alone. In contract, the two Elizabethtown goalies combined for four saves.

SOME STATS: Emily Novakovich led SU with four shots while Hunter Pitman added three, two of which were on goal. Mini Kifolo added two shots.

The Blue Jays had 22 shots to SU's 10 and both teams finished with 10 penalty corners.
