Box Score SCRANTON, Pa. – Despite out-scoring No. 4 Scranton 14-9 in the first quarter, the Susquehanna women's basketball team lost 66-38 in a Landmark Conference semifinal contest.
SU finished the season with 17 victories, tied for the most in head coach Jim Reed's 11-year tenure.
The Crusaders (17-7) were led by Lexi Biggs-Garcia with 12 points and eight rebounds while Courtney Adams and Angie Schedler contributed six points each with Adams grabbing seven boards, as well.
Scranton (25-0) scored 29 seconds into the first quarter but SU answered just over a minute later to tie the game at two with a Biggs-Garcia jumper. The Crusaders took their first lead of the night at the 7:45 mark when Adams made a jump shot to go up 4-2. The Royals tied it at four with 6:53 on the clock but a Sofia Schedler trey six seconds later gave SU back the lead (7-4).
At this point the Crusaders out-scored the Royals 7-6 to take a five-point lead into the second quarter.
Scranton scored first in the second quarter and proceeded to tie the game at 16 with 5:33 remaining in the half. The game would be tied three more times before the Royals took the lead for good with 33 seconds remaining in the second quarter (24-22).
Scranton's defense held Susquehanna to only eight points per quarter for the last three quarters as to earn the 66-38 win.
