CAMDEN, N.J. – The Susquehanna baseball team fell to nationally ranked No. 15 Rutgers-Camden Wednesday afternoon.  A four-run fifth inning was not enough to propel the Crusaders past the Raptors as they dropped a 10-4 decision at Rutgers-Camden Wednesday afternoon.

SU (9-7) was led by Justin Cassinelli who went 3-4 at the plate with one double, one RBI, one run scored and one walk. Matt Cassinelli went 2-4 with a triple while Zach Leone was 1-4 with two RBI's.

Pitcher Ryan Beckwith got the starting nod and struck out five in 5.2 innings of work. He gave up three hits and just one earned run.

The Raptors (9-2) took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning but Matt Cassinelli tripled to start the fifth and then scored when Dylan Glassmire reached on an error to tie the game atone. Josh Cimino laid down a sacrifice bunt to put two runners in scoring position for Justin Cassinelli who picked up a RBI to give SU the 2-1 lead. Leone followed with a single to score both Tom Giamio and Justin Cassinelli for a 4-1 Crusader lead.

However, the lead would not last as Rutgers-Camden answered with a seven-run sixth inning to lead 8-4. Two runs (10-4) in the seventh inning sealed the win for the Raptors.

The Crusaders return to action on Friday, March 25 when the team travels to Landmark Conference rival Juniata for a 3:00 p.m. game.
