HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Susquehanna women's tennis team opened its spring season in Hilton Head S.C. against Wilkes University and lost 9-0 Monday morning.

Alyssa Fleischman and Abagail Ransom lost 8-3 at number one doubles while Linsey Sipple and Eliza Griffin were defeated 8-2 at number two doubles. The number three doubles team consisting of Megan Rudloff and Julia Spear lost 8-6.

Sipple played in the number one singles position and lost 6-0, 6-2 while Fleischman was defeated 6-1, 6-2 at number two singles. Rudloff, at number three singles, played tough and lost 7-5, 6-3. Griffin was defeated in the number four singles position 6-3, 6-1 while Spear and Cassey Fox lost 6-1, 6-0 and 6-3, 6-3 at number five and six singles, respectively.

The Crusaders return to action on Tuesday, March 8 when they take on Berry College at 11:45 a.m.
