Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Susquehanna softball team has ended the regular season on a high note as the Crusaders took two games from Landmark Conference opponent Elizabethtown Saturday afternoon. In game one, SU won 8-4 and defeated Elizabethtown 5-1 in the second.

In the first game of the doubleheader, SU took a 7-0 lead before the Blue Jays (12-24, 3-9) mounted a comeback. However, it was not enough as the Crusaders (23-13, 9-3) held them at bay and won 8-4.

Brooke Kohler led all batters in game one, going 2-2 with two runs scored and a double while Claire Hanratty went 1-1 with two RBI's. Genevieve Raley, Lauren Creamer and Bryn Musser all went 2-4 with Creamer picking up two RBI's. Amanda Neveroski went 1-3 with three runs scored, two RBI's and a double.

Pitcher Jamie Fesinstine pitched a complete game while striking out three.

Susquehanna scored first in the third inning when Neveroski reached on an error that scored Raley and Hanratty followed with a single to score Neveroski for a 2-0 lead. SU scored three more runs in the top of the fourth inning off of a Neveroski double, a Creamer single and an error to give SU the 5-0 lead.

The Crusaders scored solo runs in the fifth and sixth innings to take a 7-0 lead. Elizabethtown got on the scoreboard with a four-run sixth inning but it would be the only runs the Blue Jays scored as SU added one in the top of the seventh to win 8-4.

In the second game of the day, the Crusaders tallied seven hits to the Blue Jays' four with Hanratty and Jackie Gore going 2-3 at the plate with a double apiece while Hanratty also added two RBI's.  Pitcher Alexa Gonzalez pitched the complete game and only allowed one run while striking out two.

In the top of the opening inning, Creamer and Hanratty both doubled to score three runs. The Crusaders increased their lead to four in the top of the second inning when Gore scored on a Danielle Vollono groundout.

The Blue Jays scored their only run in the bottom of the fifth to cut the lead to three (4-1) but SU scored one more in the top of the seventh to win 5-1.

Susquehanna will be the number three seed in the upcoming Landmark Conference Tournament hosted by Moravian College starting Friday, May 6th and will face No. 2 Catholic at 1:00 p.m.
