Three in a Row for SU Men's Soccer

QUICK HIT: The Susquehanna men's soccer team picked up its third consecutive victory with a 1-0 road win over Penn State Harrisburg on Wednesday afternoon.

THE TURNING POINT: Eric Dempsey's goal with just under 11 minutes  left in the first half proved to be the difference in the contest as the Lions failed to get on the board for the remainder of the game.

TEAM RECORDS: The River Hawks improve to 4-5-1 on the season while Penn State Harrisburg falls to 6-4-0.

SOME STATS: SU out-shot the Lions 11-6 with eight of those shots in the scoreless second half. Each squad took seven corner kicks. Jake Heyser led all players with four shots - three on goal - and Jeremy Motsko picked up the assist on Burton's score.  

Freshman goalie Matt Ellingworth tallied two saves, one in each half, to earn his third win of the season.

NEXT UP: Susquehanna remains on the road to face Landmark Conference opponent Goucher on Oct. 1 at 3:30 p.m. SU is 1-0-0 in conference play after defeating Catholic University last Saturday. The Gophers are 0-1-0 with a 3-1 loss at Juniata on Sept. 24.
