Women's Tennis Wins Second Straight

QUICK HIT: The Susquehanna women's tennis team won its second straight match in as many days as the River Hawks hosted Lycoming for the continuation of a postponed game a week ago. Susquehanna won 6-3 after leading 4-2 when the game was postponed on Sept. 21.

2-1 LEAD: The River Hawks had a 2-1 lead at the completion of doubles. Alyssa Fleischman and Abagail Ransom defeated their opponents 8-1 at number one doubles while Julia Spear and Amy Jennings won 8-2 at number three doubles.

SINGLES ACTION: Fleischman won 6-1, 6-1 at number two singles while Eliza Griffin and Spear defeated their opponents at number three (7-6, 6-3) and four (6-3, 7-6), respectively. Cassey Fox earned SU the last point as she won 6-3, 6-0 at number five singles.

WARRIORS POINTS: Lycoming's number two doubles team defeated Megan Rudloff and Griffin 8-6 while Hannah Summerson won 6-3, 6-2 over Rudloff at number one singles and Mariah Durant won 6-3, 7-5 against Jennings in the number six singles spot.

WHAT'S NEXT? Susquehanna remains home to host Penn College of Technology on Saturday, October 1 at 12:00 p.m.
