Dove Wins a Pair of Matches vs. Lebanon Valley

Box Score

Junior Alexander Dove won a 6-2, 6-2 decision at No. 1 singles and teamed with Alexander Cocolas to post an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles but it was not enough for the Susquehanna University Men's Tennis team as the River Hawks dropped a 7-2 decision to Lebanon Valley Sunday afternoon in Annville.

It was the first loss of the season for Susquehanna (4-1) and was a match that was rescheduled from earlier in the fall when the originally scheduled date was rained out.

With the win at No. 1 singles, Dove rebounded from his first singles loss of the season on Saturday when the top singles player dropped a decision to Alvernia. He is 4-1 on the season at No. 1 singles. The doubles combination of Dove and Cocolas remained unbeaten at 4-0 on the season.

In other action, Ryan Seibert and Taylor Swim dropped a close 8-5 decision at No. 2 doubles and Seibert also fell in a high-scoring tie-breaker at No. 3 singles. In the first set, Seibert fell 7-5 but rebounded to win the second set 6-4 before falling in the tie-breaker 11-9.

Jacob Mouery also lost a tie-breaker at No. 6 singles. Mouery dropped the first set 6-4 but came back to win the second set by a 6-4 score before falling in the tiebreaker 10-4.

The River Hawks will play again next Sunday with the final fall match in a 1 p.m. match at home against Penn State-Harrisburg on the James Garrett Center Courts.
