Women's Tennis Drops Fall Finale

Amy Jennings, Julia Spear and Nicole Britzenhoff each won singles matches for the Susquehanna University Women's Tennis team but Penn State Harrisburg swept the top three singles matches and won all three doubles matches to take a 6-3 decision Sunday afternoon on the Garrett Center Courts in Selinsgrove.

Jennings posted a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 4 singles while Spear was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 5 singles and Britzenhoff rounded out the Susquehanna (2-4) scoring with a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.

Britzenhoff and doubles partner Kallie Honstine dropped a very close 8-5 decision at No. 3 doubles but Penn State (2-2) posted wins in all three doubles matches to take an early 3-0 lead in the match.

Christina Rudderow fell in a tie-breaker match at No. 3 singles after Penn St. had won decisions at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.

The River Hawks have completed competition for the fall portion of the schedule and will resume play in the spring.
