River Hawks Pound Out 14 Hits to Beat Keystone

Box Score

Taylor Luckenbill and Cory Fallon had three hits each to lead the Susquehanna University Baseball team to a 9-5 victory over Keystone College Friday afternoon in a non-conference game played at Port Charlotte as part of the Spring Training trip to Florida.

Keystone (5-5) took an early lead with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning but Susquehanna (5-6) cut the lead in half with a run in the second inning before exploding for five runs in the third to take control of the game.

In the second, Fallon singled to start the inning and moved into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt by Justin Miller. Ben Burman knocked in the run with a single with the next at bat.

In the third, Zach Leone walked to start the inning and Dylan Jenkins reached on an error. Cole Luzins followed with a single to right field and both Jenkins and Leone scored on an error charged to the right fielder. Nick Berger later singled home Luzins and Cameron Ott drove in Burman to cap the big inning.

After Keystone scored a single run in the fourth, the River Hawks added to their lead with a three-run sixth inning. Ott and Luckenbill had back-to-back singles to start the inning. Ott came in to score on a wild pitch and Luckenbill moved all the way to third base. Leone walked and stole second before lifted a sacrifice fly to center field and Leone scored later on a wild pitch for the 9-3 River Hawks lead.

Luckenbill and Fallon were both 3-for-4 in the game with Fallon, Leone and Jenkins scoring twice each and Fallon and Luzins each knocking in a pair of runs.

Bobby Grigas started and went 4 1/3 innings before James Panzarino, Jack Kinney and A.J. Pinto combined for 4 2/3 innings of relief.

The River Hawks wrap up the Spring Training trip with a pair of games Saturday facing Nichols at 10 a.m. and SUNY Canton at 1 p.m. with both games at Port Charlotte.
