Box Score Junior Andrew Porzio scored three goals for the Susquehanna University Men's Lacrosse team but Eastern University put together a run of seven out of eight goals between the middle two quarters Wednesday and posted a 9-5 victory in the non-conference matchup on Sassafras Field in Selinsgrove.
Eastern (4-4) scored the first two goals of the game but Porzio scored with eight seconds left in the first quarter to put Susquehanna (7-2) on the board and Erik Lanyi added a goal to start the second quarter to tie the score at 2-2.
The Eagles then rattled off three straight goals and five of six to finish the first half with a 7-3 lead. Eastern added two goals to start the second half to take a 9-3 edge before Chet McLaughlin scored late in the third to stop the run.
Porzio capped his three-goal day with the only goal in the fourth quarter.
Porzio led Susquehanna with his three points on thre goals while Lanyi had a goal and an assist for two points. Dylan Abplanalp made 11 saves.
The River Hawks open Landmark Conference play Saturday at Elizabethtown with a 1 p.m. game.
