Box Score Senior Megan Rudloff won a 6-4, 6-3 decision at No. 3 singles Saturday against Goucher College but the Susquehanna University Women's Tennis squad dropped an 8-1 decision to the Gophers in the Landmark Conference match in Towson, Maryland.
Goucher won all three doubles matches with close scores winning 8-5, 8-3 and 8-5.
Alyssa Fleischman lost at No. 1 singles with a close first set falling by a 6-4 score. Eliza Griffin dropped a tie-breaker decision at No. 4 singles for the River Hawks. Griffin lost the opening set 6-1 but rebounded to win a 6-1 decision in the second set to force the tie breaker. The tie-breaker set went to 6-6 before Goucher pulled out a 7-3 in the tie-breaker game for the win.
Abagail Ransom also dropped a close first set at No. 5 singles falling 7-5 before losing a 6-1 second set.
The River Hawks will look to rebound from the loss at home Sunday against Catholic in a Landmark Conference match that was rescheduled from last weekend due to weather.
