Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Emilie Boman hit a home run and Jackie Gore had a pair of hits in the first game for the Susquehanna University Softball team in a doubleheader at Messiah, ranked No. 9 in the NFCA National poll, but the Falcons scored a pair of wins with 6-1 and 3-0 wins Wednesday in the non-conference meeting on Starry Field at Messiah.

Boman's home run came in the top of the first inning as the River Hawks (12-6) opened the game with a 1-0 lead.

The Falcons (21-4) answered in the bottom of the first with a pair of runs and added three more in the fourth and one in the sixth for the final score. Gore was 2-for-3 with a double and the River Hawks went down on strikes just once in the first game.

In game two, Messiah broke a scoreless tie with three runs in the fourth inning and neither team scored in the final three innings.

The River Hawks were limited to just one hit in the night cap while pitcher Jamie Fesinstine scattered six hits over six innings. The lone hit for Susquehanna came from the bat of Brooke Kohler as she broke up the no-hitter with a leadoff single in the top of the fifth inning.

The River Hawks host Moravian Saturday and travel to Scranton Sunday for Landmark Conference doubleheaders this weekend.
