Box Score The Susquehanna University Men's Tennis team put together one of its best performances of the year Sunday and posted its first Landmark Conference win since 2013 with an 8-1 victory over Moravian College on the James Garrett Center Courts in Selinsgrove.
The win for Susquehanna stopped a streak of 26 consecutive Landmark Conference losses dating back to a 6-3 win over Goucher on April 20, 2013. The streak was stopped against an opponent in Moravian that came into the match with an overall 23-2 advantage in the series history and had not lost to the River Hawks sine April 10, 1999 when Susquehanna posted a 6-3 win over the Greyhounds.
On Sunday, the River Hawks swept all three doubles matches with Nicholas Meale and Ashton Collins posting an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles for the widest margin of victory in the first three matches.
In singles play, both Meale and Collins posted 6-0, 6-0 wins at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots respectively. Ben Ornstein won at No. 1 singles by a 6-4, 6-2 score, Alexander Cocolas was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at No. 3 singles and Ryan Seibert won his match at No. 4 singles by a 6-2, 6-1 final score.
The River Hawks are off for the next 10 days before facing Juniata April 19 in a home match starting at 3 p.m.
