Women's Tennis Upended by Moravian

In a match that was much closer than the final score indicates, the Susquehanna University Women's Tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Moravian College Sunday afternoon in a Landmark Conference match on the James Garrett Center Courts in Selinsgrove.

Susquehanna lost a pair of matches in tie breakers and also dropped two doubles matches by 8-4 scores.

Linsey Sipple fell at No. 2 singles in a tie breaker. After dropping the opening set 6-3, Sipple rebounded to post a 7-5 win in the second set to force the tie breaker and fell by a narrow 10-8 score.

Eliza Griffin had a similar result at No. 4 singles for the River Hawks. Griffin won the first set with a 6-4 victory but dropped a 6-2 score in the second forcing the tie breaker that Griffin came up on the short end of a 10-8 score.

Sipple paired with Megan Rudloff at No. 2 doubles and the pair fell by an 8-4 score while Griffin and Cassey Fox lost by the same score at No. 3 doubles for Susquehanna.

The River Hawks host Juniata a week from Wednesday on April 19 in their next match. That matchup is set for Garrett Courts in Selinsgrove.
