The Susquehanna University Baseball team scored six times in the eighth inning of a scheduled seven-inning game Sunday to post a 6-0 win over Moravian but the Greyhounds used late-inning heroics of their own in game two, winning on a walk-off hit with a come-from-behind 4-3 victory in the second game of the day and third game of the Landmark Conference series.

In the opener, the teams battled to a scoreless tie through all seven innings of the scheduled seven-inning game forcing extra innings. In the eighth inning, Cole Luzins started the inning and the rally with a single and Cory Fallon followed with a double to put runners on second and third.

With one out, Nick Berger reached on a fielder's choice and Luzins thrown out at the plate leaving runners on the corners with two outs.

The River Hawks followed with four consecutive run-scoring hits to break the game open. Danny Gordon started the hit parade with a single to score Fallon.

After a pitching change, Tom Giaimo singled to right field to score two more runs, Taylor Luckenbill doubled to score Giaimo and then Zach Leone hit a home run to left centerfield to give the River Hawks a 6-0 lead.

Luzins was 3-for-3 in the game while Leone, Fallon and Gordon all had two hits each.

In the second game, Susquehanna took an early lead with a run in the second inning and then extended the lead to 3-0 with a pair of runs in the sixth.

Ben Burman hit a two-out single to score Dylan Jenkins in the second inning and then added a sacrifice fly to score Leone in the sixth before Berger singled home Jenkins in the next at bat to give the River Hawks a 3-0 lead.

Moravian battled back for two runs in the bottom of the sixth to trim the lead to 3-2.

In the seventh inning, the Greyhounds rallied again with a pair of singles and a walk to start the inning. Another single scored one run to tie the game and

Moravian won the game with a sacrifice fly to left field allowing the winning run to score from third.

Berger led the River Hawks in the second game with a pair of hits and Burman had two runs batted in.

Susquehanna is scheduled to play at Wesley Thursday before hosting a three-game series with Juniata Friday and Saturday.
