The River Hawks gave up three runs on three hits including a home run in the first inning to fall behind early.

"For sure (we had some jitters)," said sophomore Jackie Gore who led the River Hawks going 1-for-2 with a double and a run batted in when asked about the team getting off to a slow start. "We were definitely excited and anxious to play today."

In the sixth inning, the River Hawks finally put a run on the board. Heather Pearson opened the sixth with a single to right centerfield and with one out, Gore connected on a double to the gap in right center that scored Pearson from first.

In the bottom of the inning, the Roadrunners answered with a single run to regain the three-run lead and held on in the seventh to secure the win.
