Box Score Alyssa Bolger and Kate Cantrell each scored goals for the Susquehanna University Women's Soccer team Sunday night as the River Hawks remained undefeated by posting a 2-1 victory over Westminster College on Sassafras Field in Selinsgrove.
Susquehanna (6-0-1) continued its unbeaten streak and the best start in school history with the win by taking an early lead. Grayclynn Juckes sent a crossing pass into the box to the foot of Bolger who finished the play for the 1-0 lead just less than eight minutes into the contest.
Just two minutes into the second half, the River Hawks added to their lead with a goal from Cantrell. Chloe Eisenhuth chipped the ball to Cantrell who shot it in over the keeper's reach.
Westminster (3-2) added a goal with less than two minutes to go in the match but was unable to threaten any further in the closing minutes.
Susquehanna held a 14-5 advantage in shots including an 8-3 edge in the second half.
The River Hawks are back in action at 7p.m. Wednesday at Sassafras Field facing the undefeated Colonels of Wilkes University (4-0-1) before starting Landmark Conference Saturday at Catholic.
